Description
Hawaii Stevedores, Inc. is requesting firm-fixed-price proposals for complete engineering drawings and calculations suitable for permitting the installation of an approximately 4.0 MWh, 2.0 MW Tesla Megapack 2 XL battery energy storage system at the new Kapalama Container Terminal. The design must support grid-connected parallel operation, standalone microgrid operation, demand management, and energy optimization, and must accommodate future rooftop solar systems serving the administration and maintenance buildings. The scope includes civil, structural, electrical, communications, conduit, foundation, fencing, signage, and permitting drawings; a topographic survey; manufacturer and equipment documentation; preliminary, 60%, 95%, and complete construction/permitting design deliverables; permitting support; Honolulu Fire Department and Department of Planning and Permitting coordination; and leadership in obtaining the Hawaii Electric interconnection agreement. The selected contractor will also provide review support for the subsequent installation solicitation and submit a project approach and timeline. The work is subject to federal grant requirements, including Build America, Buy America compliance, and the proposal must include the required forms, certifications, qualifications, experience, safety and litigation disclosures, and separate cost proposal.
