The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is planning an 8(a) competitive invitation for bids for renovation work at the Detroit Project Office. The project has a 365-consecutive-calendar-day completion period and includes mobilization and demobilization; demolition of asphalt and concrete pavements, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, slabs, water infrastructure, storm sewer components, fencing, gates, and a flagpole; earthwork, excavation, backfill, compaction, grading, aggregate work, asphalt paving, and concrete paving. Additional work includes water main and storm sewer construction; sidewalks, steps, and light pole bases; metal handrails; ornamental fencing and an electric pivot gate; electrical conductors, utility rack, gate controls, keypad, intercom, camera, monitoring station, and exterior pole lighting; pipe bollards; a flagpole; pavement markings; turf repair, seeding, and site restoration. The formal invitation for bids is expected to be issued within 30–60 days of the presolicitation notice.
