Description
Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government is soliciting proposals for non-exclusive communications franchises to erect, install, or maintain facilities within Louisville Metro rights of way and provide communications services under Chapter 116 of the Louisville Metro Code of Ordinances. Applicants must submit a proposed system detail addressing geographic deployment by Metro Council district, small-cell antennae, aerial and underground fiber, ground-level elements, installation methods, applicable FCC and utility-policy standards, and project phasing. Applicants must also describe the communications services they plan to provide and disclose their organizational structure and facility ownership. Required submittals include a signed application, a $2,500 non-refundable application fee, proposed system detail, PSC and FCC certifications or signed waiver statements, required insurance policies, bonds and certificates with a signed statement of acceptability, a copy of the $1,000,000 franchise bond, and an application-fee copy. The franchise bond is required at application, although its original is required only upon franchise approval. The application may include additional information at the applicant's discretion.
