Description
The New York Power Authority is offering $20,000 to $100,000 in funding for community-determined projects that strengthen resilience near its Zeltman Generation Facility. Eligible activities may promote energy and environmental sustainability, reduce climate vulnerability and energy burden, improve energy affordability and community health, create or expand gardens and green spaces, support renewable energy or energy efficiency, and provide clean-energy or sustainability workforce training. Projects must serve disadvantaged communities and/or priority populations and be located within four miles of the facility. Applicants must submit a detailed proposal narrative identifying funded tasks, responsible individuals or organizations, milestones, outcomes, deliverables, and reports; an itemized budget and cost breakdown; resumes of key personnel; organizational and leadership information; affiliation disclosures; incorporation or formation documentation and, when applicable, New York registration evidence; a recently completed W-9 or equivalent; supplier-diversity documentation; and required permitting, review, approval, and environmental-review information. Funding is tied to project milestones and reporting under a negotiated Fund Benefit Agreement. Supplier-diversity goals are 30% New York State-certified MWBE participation and 6% SDVOB participation.
