Description
The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Forestry, is offering a timber stumpage sale covering 191 acres in Gallitzin State Forest. The sale includes approximately 1,078.41 MBF of sawtimber, predominantly dead red oak, and 218.69 HCF of pulpwood. The timber is FSC- and SFI-certified, and bidders must base their offers on their own estimates because volumes and quality are not guaranteed and logs will not be scaled. The successful buyer must perform logging and cleanup operations across five cutting blocks, construct and improve haul roads and log landings, purchase and place specified quantities of stone, seed approximately one acre of disturbed areas, and comply with detailed felling, environmental, safety, hauling, and slash-disposal restrictions. On-site crew leaders must hold Pennsylvania Sustainable Forestry Initiative Core Level Training cards or accepted comparable training. Bids must be electronically signed and submitted through Bid Express by the stated deadline; a $10,000 bid deposit or permanent bid bond must accompany the bid submission. The contract expires September 30, 2029.
