Description
The New York State Comptroller, as administrative head of the New York State and Local Retirement Systems, is seeking individual physicians to conduct independent medical examinations of retirement-system members, provide professional and expert medical opinions, and testify at administrative disability hearings on an as-needed basis. Physicians must be licensed to practice medicine in New York State, hold American Board of Medical Specialties certification in at least one listed specialty or subspecialty, have no pending or substantiated professional misconduct, provide accessible medical facilities suitable for examinations, and possess sufficient verbal and written English proficiency. Applicants must submit a current resume or curriculum vitae, office addresses where examinations will be performed, areas of board-certified expertise, proof of professional liability coverage, Attachment 2 (Certifications), and Attachment 3 (OSC Procurement Forms). Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed at least quarterly; work volume is not guaranteed, and services require prior approval. The solicitation identifies a five-year contract term and states that the selected physician must accept terms materially consistent with the draft contract.
