Description

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury is soliciting sealed bids from licensed Louisiana Building Construction contractors for hurricane-related repairs and improvements to its four-story Parish Government Building. The base work includes replacement of exterior aluminum composite panels and curtainwall systems, structural steel reinforcement, standing-seam metal roof replacement, gutters and downspouts, interior repairs on the third and fourth floors, stairwell ceiling repairs, wall and floor finishes, basement repairs, and removal, storage, and resetting of furniture. The project also includes HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire-suppression, security, glazing, doors, finishes, and related construction work identified in the project manual. An alternate includes sitework, paving, sidewalks, landscaping, signage, flagpoles, lighting, ramps, steps, railings, an entry canopy, masonry sealants and coatings, and first- and second-floor demolition and interior finishes. The contract requires a 5 percent bid security and 100 percent performance and payment bonds. The successful contractor must substantially complete the work within 480 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed. The owner will occupy the building throughout construction, requiring coordination, temporary fencing, debris screening, and safety controls. The project may be funded in whole or in part through FEMA disaster-recovery reimbursement.
