Description
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office is soliciting sealed bids for the construction of a FEMA Safe Room designed to withstand hurricanes and tornadoes, designated as VSG Project No. 2425. The project is partially funded by a federal grant under the 2021 Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), and all federal procurement standards apply. Contract documents, including drawings and technical specifications, are available from the project architect, VSG Architects, APALLC, or electronically through BidNet Direct. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on September 1, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Central Time at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office Archive and Central Distribution building. Bids must be accompanied by a bid security equal to five percent of the sum of the base bid and all alternates, and the successful bidder will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds equal to one hundred percent of the contract amount. Bids will be opened on September 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Central Time at the same location. Contractors must be licensed under Louisiana law for the classification of Building Construction.
