The Societe quebecoise des infrastructures is issuing a public call for tenders for construction work involving the expansion of Hopital de La Malbaie through the construction of a new five-story pavilion (Block D) adjacent to Boulevard De Comporte, connected on two levels to Block A of the existing building. The new pavilion will house the emergency department, ambulatory care unit, outpatient clinics, medical imaging, operating block, endoscopy, care units, and pharmacy. The project also includes the reconfiguration of Block A to accommodate rehabilitation services and various auxiliary and administrative services. Upon completion of Blocks A and D, Blocks B and C of the current infrastructure will be demolished to create a new parking lot on rue Saint-Etienne. The project aims to resolve current space shortages and physical and functional obsolescence of the hospital. The work must be completed within 242 weeks from the contract start date, with a probable start between October 27 and November 16, 2026.
