Description
The United States Navy is soliciting a firm-fixed-price service contract to recondition and modify five existing 15-foot-wide by 60-foot-long by 5-foot-high utility floats into an anchored small-boat landing for port operations. The work includes abrasive surface preparation and marine-grade antifouling paint on the underwater hulls; removal and reinstallation of zinc anodes; fabrication and installation of 17-ton-class stainless-steel padeyes with internal backing plates; removal of D-rubber fendering; installation of steel end-to-end coupling eyes and sliding-bar couplings; modification of one float for an L-shaped configuration; replacement of void-cover gaskets; and filling all voids with two-part marine-grade flotation foam. Structural attachments must meet American Welding Society marine standards, and new hardware must be galvanized or marine-grade steel. The Government will furnish and deliver the five floats by tugboat. Performance will occur at the contractor’s facility, and deliverables include five fully modified floats plus engineering drawings and load-rating certifications for the new padeye installations. The period of performance is 180 days from award, with delivery scheduled from September 28, 2026, through March 31, 2027. The acquisition is unrestricted, and evaluation will consider technical factors including delivery date, price, and past performance.
