Sealed bids will be received at the above office until: 10/14/2026 by 3PM EST. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to reject any or all proposals if, in her sole judgment, the best interest of the City of Somerville would be served by so doing. Description
The City of Somerville Department of Public Works is soliciting bids for biannual inspection and testing, maintenance, five-year assessments, on-call service, emergency repairs, and related parts and materials for fire suppression systems at 22 city facilities. The scope includes sprinkler systems, fire pumps, backflow preventers, standpipes, water-flow and tamper alarms, kitchen hood suppression systems at specified facilities, and associated devices. The contractor must provide qualified, licensed technicians, maintain 24/7 emergency response capability, submit inspection reports, and perform work in accordance with applicable NFPA standards and federal, state, and local requirements. Bidders must have at least 10 years of fire suppression maintenance experience, DCAMM certification in Fire Protection Sprinkler Systems, required technician and sprinkler-fitter licenses, and OSHA-approved 10-hour construction safety training for designated personnel. Massachusetts prevailing wages apply. The contract includes an initial one-year period with two optional renewal years, and requires a 5% bid deposit and a payment bond equal to 50% of the contract value.
