Description
Orange County, through OC Community Resources and OC Parks, is soliciting bids for recurring vegetation management and fire-safety services at various OC Parks facilities. The contractor must furnish labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, transportation, water, debris removal, and disposal for weed abatement and fuel modification work. The scope includes mowing, disking, flailing, hand weed-whipping, vegetation thinning and removal, hand cleaning and hauling, trail brushing, and fire road trimming. Work includes removing combustible vegetation, rubbish, litter, and debris; reducing natural vegetation by 30 to 50 percent where directed; maintaining specified trail and fire-road clearances; providing traffic and parking controls; and complying with applicable safety, environmental, noise, dust, water-quality, prevailing-wage, and public-works requirements. The contractor must maintain sufficient equipment and resources to cover at least 230 acres of weed abatement annually between April 1 and June 30, and the pricing schedule estimates 234 acres of weed abatement and 210 miles of trail brushing annually. The initial contract term is three years, with two additional renewal years available by mutual written agreement.
