Description
The City of Fernley is soliciting a contractor to perform flow testing on approximately 1,178 City-owned fire hydrants throughout Fernley, Nevada. The contractor must provide all labor, supervision, equipment, testing instruments, tools, supplies, vehicles, traffic control, safety measures, data collection, and documentation required for the work. Testing must follow applicable industry standards and City-approved procedures, and each hydrant must be returned to normal operating condition. Repairs, maintenance, painting, adjustment, replacement, and other corrective work are excluded. For each hydrant, the contractor must document the asset identification number when available, location, test date, static pressure, residual pressure, pilot pressure, outlet or nozzle size, flow rate, tester identification, observed condition, deficiencies, and unusual or incomplete-testing conditions. Deliverables include electronic testing records in Microsoft Excel or another City-approved format, a PDF completed testing report, a summary of hydrants tested, a list of hydrants that could not be tested, identified deficiencies, and conditions reported for immediate attention. Work begins only after written notice to proceed and must be completed, with final deliverables submitted, within 90 calendar days after that notice.
