Description
Ferris State University is soliciting professional design services for the relocation of departments currently housed in Birkam Health Center and Johnson Hall into FLITE, Arts and Sciences Commons, the National Elastomer Center, Swan Building, and the Granger Building on the Big Rapids campus. The work will involve programming and design for office reconfigurations, classroom and laboratory improvements, accessibility enhancements, mechanical and electrical upgrades, technology infrastructure, security, signage, acoustics, environmental coordination, and furniture, fixtures, and equipment design. The selected professional service organization will provide multidisciplinary architectural and engineering services, including structural, architectural, plumbing, mechanical, fire and life safety, electrical, building automation, information technology, audiovisual, digital signage, security, wired and wireless network coordination, and environmental coordination. Required deliverables include program validation, schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding and negotiation support, construction administration, project closeout, as-built drawings, BIM Level 300 model creation and coordination, and coordination with consultants and the construction manager. The estimated total project budget is $12 million to $17 million, with an estimated construction budget of $5.6 million to $8.6 million for fee-proposal purposes. The anticipated work is phased across FLITE, Arts and Sciences Commons, and the National Elastomer Center/Swan/Granger group, with construction extending through July 2028.
