Description
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), Division of Adult Parole Operations (DAPO) is seeking proposals for the use of a firing range facility. The facility must be located within 30 miles of the Redding Parole Office at 391 Hemsted Drive, Redding, CA 96002. The scope of work includes providing access for regular firearms requalification (4-hour sessions, quarterly), night firearms requalification (4-hour sessions, annually during Q4), and classroom instruction (2-hour sessions, as needed). The range must accommodate 1-20 shooters per session and support handgun qualifications at distances from 3 to 15 yards, and rifle qualifications from 50 to 100 yards. Classroom facilities with audio-visual capabilities must also be provided. The initial contract term is for three years, with two optional one-year extensions. The state anticipates an average of 10-15 shooters per session for monthly use and night shooting, with a maximum of 20 shooters per session. The facility must be available for use on any day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with advance notice required for exclusive use.
