MTA New York City Transit is soliciting an A+B construction contract to rehabilitate 13 emergency exits on the 63rd Street line across Manhattan and Queens. The work includes installing stairway pressurization systems that draw fresh air from street level to nine exits and connecting existing Long Island Rail Road alarm systems to New York City Transit Authority alarm systems at four additional exits that already have pressurization systems. The estimated contract value is over $10 million to $50 million, with funding provided entirely by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The solicitation identifies subcontracting goals of 6% for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses, 15% for Minority-Owned Businesses, and 15% for Women-Owned Businesses. The contract requires substantial completion in 1,302 days. Vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management and obtain an MTA bidder/supplier number to request the bid documents.
