Description
Escambia County is soliciting bids for Phase 1 of the New Century Community Shelter Project. The work includes selective demolition of a designated portion of an existing gymnasium; removal of the gymnasium floor, locker rooms, interior partitions, finishes, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; clearing and grubbing; removal of above-ground and below-ground improvements; site preparation; debris removal; and reduction of the remaining structure to its designated structural shell. The contractor must make reasonable efforts to salvage and protect the existing gymnasium mascot emblem and deliver it to a County-designated location. The project is funded through the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery program. The apparent low bidder must submit a detailed Schedule of Values after bid opening as an award condition. Bidders must provide a 5% bid surety, applicable licenses and registrations, insurance evidence or a letter of insurability, federal and Section 3 documentation, subcontractor information, and the required certifications and forms. The work is to be substantially completed within 30 consecutive calendar days after the written Notice to Proceed, with final completion within an additional 30 consecutive calendar days.
