Description
Portland State University is soliciting bids for abatement and demolition of the existing Art Building and Art Building Annex at 2000 SW 5th Avenue in Portland. The work includes complete building and interior demolition, demolition of associated parking, foundations, retaining walls, and utilities; hazardous-materials abatement for identified asbestos-containing materials and lead-containing paint; utility shutdowns and capping; temporary shoring and bracing; debris removal and disposal; erosion and sediment control; site backfill and restoration; protection of adjacent occupied facilities, sidewalks, trees, and public areas; and required permits, inspections, safety measures, logistics, and waste-diversion tracking. Bidders must include a summary-level demolition schedule with an assumed October 5, 2026 start date. The selected contractor must provide required submittals, coordinate inspections and utility work, maintain a one-year warranty, and complete the work by the stated substantial and final completion dates. A mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit is required for prime bidders, and the bid must include the completed PSU Bid and Bid Security Forms with bid security equal to 10 percent of the bid amount.
