Description
The Town of Darien is soliciting bids for snowplowing municipal and railroad station parking lots, including entrances, exits, driveways, roads, and parking areas. Contractors must be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from November 1, 2026, through April 1, 2027, and must complete nighttime plowing by 6:00 a.m. when directed by the Town. Work covers two bid areas comprising multiple lots in Darien and Noroton Heights, with specified snow-storage restrictions and equipment requirements. The solicitation also includes optional, specifically authorized snow loading and hauling paid at hourly rates. Bidders must provide evidence of at least five years of comparable parking-lot snowplowing experience, three customer references, an equipment and storage-location list, 24/7 dispatch capability, and applicable drug-and-alcohol testing documentation when using commercial-driver-licensed equipment. Required insurance includes general liability, automobile liability, workers’ compensation and employers’ liability, and contractual liability coverage. No bid bond is required.
