Request for ProposalS The St. Bernard Parish School Board, 200 E. St. Bernard Hwy., Chalmette, LA 70043 hereby solicits sealed proposals from qualified vendors to provide Grass Cutting Services to all its properties, including school campuses, support facilities, athletic fields, and vacant property and lots. Contract will be effective 10/1/2026 for a period of three (3) years with the option to renew for three additional one year periods. St. Bernard Hwy., Chalmette, LA 70043 by 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026. Proposals should be clearly marked “RFP – GRASS CUTTING SERVICES”. Proposals received after that time will not be accepted. Proposals shall be either hand delivered by the bidder or his agent in which instance the deliverer shall be handed a written receipt or such proposals shall be sent by registered or certified mail with a return receipt requested. Additionally, proposals may be submitted electronically via procedures established online at https://www.bidnetdirect.com/louisiana/stbernardparishpublicschools. Proposals submitted via fax or email will not be accepted. Questions concerning this Request for Proposal package should be addressed to Laura Carlin Dorcey at the address noted above, faxed to 504-301-2010, or emailed to lcarlin@sbpsb.org, and should be clearly marked “RFP – GRASS CUTTING SERVICES”. All calls and written questions must be completed by 4:30 PM, Wednesday, September 16, 2026. A MANDATORY pre-bid conference will be held on September 14, 2026, 10:00AM at the School Board’s administration offices, 200 E. St. Bernard Hwy, Chalmette, LA 70043. Responses WILL NOT be accepted from contractors that fail to attend the pre-bid conference. This Request for Proposals does not commit the St. Bernard Parish School Board to purchase or to pay any cost incurred in the preparation of proposals. The St. Bernard Parish School Board reserves the right to accept or reject, in whole or in part, all proposals submitted and/or to cancel this announcement. All purchases awarded shall be based upon the proposal most advantageous to the St. Bernard Parish School Board, price and other factors considered. Description
St. Bernard Parish School Board seeks a contractor to provide all labor, supervision, equipment, fuel, transportation, materials, and incidental services required for district-wide grass cutting and grounds maintenance. The scope covers school campuses, support facilities, athletic fields, vacant sites, and vacant lots, including mowing, string trimming, mechanical edging, fence-line maintenance, litter and clipping removal, cleanup, gate security, and protection of school property. The contractor must complete at least 39 district-wide mowing cycles each contract year, generally keep no campus more than 10 calendar days between cycles during the primary growing season, respond to authorized emergency or special-event requests within one business day, and provide electronic service documentation after each cycle. Proposers must demonstrate at least five consecutive years of comparable grounds-maintenance experience, provide staffing, equipment, quality-assurance, safety, pricing, and reference information, and submit the signed Vendor Information & Certifications Form. The initial term is October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2029, with up to three additional one-year renewal terms. Required insurance includes commercial general liability, automobile liability, workers’ compensation, and employer’s liability coverage.
