Description
North Carolina State University's Biological and Agricultural Engineering department is requesting proposals from qualified contractors to install floating wetland island systems in two wet ponds at the Brunswick County Government Complex. The work includes sourcing and installing wetland vegetation, anchors, floating mat and matrix materials, cleanup, permitting, and all related labor, equipment, delivery, and mobilization. The systems must provide specified surface coverage, a minimum planting density of 0.5 stems per square foot, a verified structural design life of at least three years, and continuous water-quality treatment. The contractor must provide a six-month plant warranty with at least 85% plant survival and coverage, plus structural defect coverage for 12 months after acceptance. The project must be completed, inspected, accepted, and invoiced no later than six weeks after award, with weather-related adjustments subject to project-manager approval. Proposals must include a technical proposal, three similar-project references completed within the past three years, a completed NC State University RFP package, a completed cost proposal, and any applicable addenda. The cost proposal must be an all-inclusive lump sum for both pond installations. A certificate of insurance is required, and the solicitation requires background checks for personnel assigned to the contract.
