Description
Dallas County is soliciting a general contractor for a one-time project to demolish existing generator equipment and install four new standby diesel generators—two at Youth Village and two at the Judge John C. Creuzot Judicial Treatment Center. The work includes structural equipment pads, auxiliary electrical equipment, underground conduit and wiring, transfer switches, generator testing, and two chain-link security enclosures at Youth Village. The generators will provide 96-hour backup power to designated buildings and facilities. The solicitation package includes construction specifications, drawings, a bid form, unit-price and alternates forms, a cost template, a Uniformat Level II cost worksheet, and mandatory Small Business Enterprise forms. The bid requires a 5% bid bond; performance and payment bonds are required after award at 100% of the contract amount. The contractor must provide equipment and materials, coordinate phased construction and shutdowns, perform third-party electrical studies, complete testing in accordance with manufacturer requirements and NFPA 110, and provide references from at least three customers for similar work.
