Description
Dallas College is establishing a pool of qualified firms to provide professional fire protection engineering services on an as-needed, on-call basis for facility assessments, fully engineered fire protection designs, fire and life-safety code reviews, plan reviews, inspections, testing coordination, commissioning, construction support, and related engineering services. Comprehensive designs are generally expected to include complete system layouts and engineering details sufficient for independent bidding, including system architecture and specifications. Delegated design should be limited to specialized systems and clearly defined in construction documents. The scope includes work involving fire alarm, sprinkler, suppression, standpipe, smoke-control, mass-notification, and emergency responder communication enhancement systems, as well as site surveys for public-safety radio-frequency downlink signals where needed. Dallas College clarified that routine monitoring and maintenance are not specifically requested, and that installers should conduct testing of newly installed fire alarm systems. The solicitation establishes a qualified-provider pool and does not guarantee any contract, project, task order, or minimum dollar amount.
