Description
King County Metro is conducting this Request for Information to inform multiple formal Requests for Proposals anticipated to begin in 2027 for management and operations of Access, its paratransit service, and Metro Flex, its shared on-demand microtransit service. The County is evaluating a transition from turnkey contracts to a more decentralized model, new integrated booking and dispatch technology, and improved coordination of reservations, rider support, scheduling, dispatch, drivers, training, vehicle maintenance, customer service, safety, reporting, and subcontractor management. Future procurements may also support other Metro programs. Respondents should provide industry and market information addressing service models, functions best kept in-house or contracted, contract packaging, transition timelines, performance targets, resources, contract terms, pricing structures, incentives, relevant experience, integration of ADA paratransit and microtransit, and lessons from comparable programs. Responses are voluntary and non-binding; no contract will be awarded from this RFI. Responses must address the listed questions in order, use a Microsoft Word document, and attach it to an email.
