Description
Greenville Water is soliciting unit-price bids for replacement of existing asbestos cement water mains at three sites. The work includes approximately 455 linear feet of new 6-inch Class 350 ductile iron water main on Douthit Street; approximately 558 linear feet of new 8-inch Class 350 ductile iron water main along Fairview Street Extension, Greenpond Road, and Union Creek Way, including approximately 42 linear feet of 8-inch carrier pipe in a 16-inch steel casing installed by open cut across Greenpond Road; and connection, hydrant removal, and service-transfer work at Terminal Road on the Donaldson Center/SCTAC campus. Existing asbestos cement mains are to be abandoned in place rather than removed. The scope includes open-cut excavation, tie-ins, gate valves, one replacement fire hydrant assembly, removal of existing hydrants where specified, 26 water service transfers, cutting and capping, flowable fill of abandoned piping, pressure testing, leakage testing, flushing, disinfection, bacteriological acceptance, erosion and sediment control, traffic control, and pavement or surface restoration. Work at the Terminal Road site is limited to 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and requires Lockheed Martin escort and access coordination. The contract is unit-price based, with award intended for the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The successful contractor must submit a Bid Form, manufacturer and subcontractor lists, bid security, qualifications information, authority/licensure evidence, and required supporting attachments in one PDF email submission.
