Description
The Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority is soliciting sealed bids for upgrades to seven filters at its Boonton Water Treatment Plant. The work includes furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment; replacing underdrains and filter media; rehabilitating interior filter walls, valve shafts, and the backwash effluent channel; replacing backwash air diffusers, brackets, and fittings; manufacturer inspection and necessary repairs; installing safety equipment; and completing associated work described in the contract documents. Bidders must demonstrate experience with potable water treatment plant filter construction projects. The bid must include a surety’s consent and bid security equal to 10% of the bid amount or $20,000, whichever is less. The successful contractor must furnish performance, labor and material, and maintenance bonds, each for 100% of the contract price. The work must be completed within 650 calendar days after written notice to proceed. Submissions require one hard-copy original, one hard-copy copy, and one PDF version on a CD-ROM or USB drive; electronic bid submission is not permitted.
