Description
This competitive sealed bid is for reconstruction of six main sewage pump systems at the Wards Island Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility. The work includes demolition and replacement of six MSP motors, suction elbows, cone check valves, pneumatic or electro-hydraulic actuators, discharge piping, associated controls, power and control cable, conduit, and appurtenances. The contractor must maintain continuous facility operations and provide temporary ventilation, cofferdam work, hoisting, hazardous-material controls, and coordination with facility personnel and other contractors. The scope also includes shop testing, system startup and field testing, calibration, as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, training, and final acceptance activities. The contract is for 915 CCDs and is subject to prevailing-wage requirements, a Project Labor Agreement, a 6% total M/WBE participation requirement, Community Hiring, safety, environmental, insurance, and New York State Department of Labor registration requirements. Bids must be submitted electronically through PASSPort; hard-copy submissions are not accepted. A 5% bid bond and 100% payment and performance bonds are required. The apparent low bidder must submit an environmental health and safety plan before award.
