Description
The U.S. Air Force is conducting market research for manufacturers capable of producing and qualifying LRU-36/A 25-person life raft assemblies. The assembly is expected to include the raft, inflation assembly, self-erecting canopy, survival-kit accessory container, canopy support rods, bellows pump, knife, and carrying case. It must activate with no more than 30 pounds of pull force, reach its design shape within 30 seconds, and accommodate at least 25 large aircrew members equipped with standard aviation life-support equipment for emergency aircraft water egress. Responses should address manufacturing capability, current product specifications, RF welding, inflation-assembly sourcing, cylinder inspection and maintenance, required modifications, production capacity and schedule, first-article and production-lot testing, military packaging and shipping, estimated cost for one qualification unit, quality-management systems, and product training support. The response must also include company capability and ownership information, CAGE code, UEI, NAICS classification, and applicable socioeconomic certifications. Responses are limited to 10 pages, including supporting product sheets and test data; controlled technical documents must be requested from the contracting personnel.
