Description
The Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans is soliciting bids for Work Order No. 1-1194 at the Nashville-Napoleon Terminal Complex. The contractor must furnish labor, materials, and equipment to perform non-destructive weld testing on ship-to-shore container Cranes 8 and 9, including access equipment, coating removal and replacement, visual, magnetic-particle, and ultrasonic testing, and preparation of reports. The work may also include as-needed structural repairs directed by the Engineer. Bidders must comply with Louisiana contractor licensing requirements and hold an applicable Heavy Construction, Building Construction, or Limited Specialty Services classification for bids of $50,000 or more. A bid security of 5% of the base bid plus additive alternates is required, and the successful bidder must furnish a performance bond for the full contract amount. At least 60% of the awarded work must be performed by the contractor's own employees at the construction site or in its own shop, plant, or yard. Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credentials are required for access to secure port areas, and TWIC escorts are not permitted. DBE and SBE participation is encouraged.
