Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, is soliciting sealed bids for maintenance dredging of the Barataria Bay Bar Channel in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. The work consists of removing shoal material from the channel and satisfactorily disposing of it at the unconfined Grand Terre Island disposal site. The required channel dimensions are 18 feet MLG deep by 250 feet wide, with 1V-on-2H side slopes. No dike work is required, and the procurement is unrestricted. The base work includes mobilization and demobilization and dredging, with an optional item for bird-nesting avoidance measures. Hydraulic dredging is required between approximately stations -75+00 and -220+00. The contractor must provide dredging plant, surveys, disposal operations, environmental protection, Dredging Quality Management monitoring, safety and quality-control programs, and required project schedules and reports. The mandatory performance period is 90 calendar days after receipt of the notice to proceed; the contractor must begin within 10 calendar days after receiving the notice to proceed. Performance and payment bonds are required after award, and a bid guarantee is required with the bid.
