Description
The City of Modesto is accepting bids for the Carpenter Road and Prescott Road Signal Coordination project. The work includes the installation of new software and hardware to coordinate traffic signals along Carpenter Road from Maze Boulevard to Blue Gum Avenue and Prescott Road from West Briggsmore Avenue to Bangs Avenue. The project involves installing fiber optic cable (96-strand and 12-strand), conduit, pull boxes, fiber splice boxes, and performing fusion splicing and termination. It also includes overhead fiber optic cable installation, make-ready work on utility poles, and coordination with AT&T for permits. The project has a base bid and three bid alternates for additional sections of fiber installation. The estimated base bid is $859,667, with alternates valued at $654,505, $575,295, and $46,800. The contract duration is 70 working days, with liquidated damages of $5,200 per day. A Class "A" California contractor license is required, and prevailing wages must be paid.
