Description
Stony Brook University Hospital is seeking a qualified professional engineering consultant to evaluate, design, document, and support installation of an electrically driven, industrial-grade water-to-water heat pump system. The system will recover thermal energy from chilled-water return piping and transfer it to the hospital reheat hot-water system, with an approximate cooling capacity of 1,100 tons. The scope includes site investigation, engineering analysis, basis-of-design and schematic/design-development/construction documents, equipment specifications, cost estimates, permitting and regulatory support, and coordination with hospital operations and grant requirements. The consultant will also provide bidding support, construction administration, commissioning and startup support, submittal and RFI review, construction progress meetings, closeout documentation, record drawings, and monitoring and verification support. The work must address critical healthcare-facility reliability, redundancy, maintainability, uninterrupted operations, New York State Department of Health requirements, NYSERDA grant requirements, sustainable design and LEED Silver objectives, and Projectmates document management. The contract term is four years, and the proposal must include relevant hospital heat-recovery and NYSERDA experience, at least three similar references from the last five years, a New York-licensed architect as principal, staff credentials, and required proposal certifications and participation plans.
