Description
This pre-solicitation concerns a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set-aside construction project at Buildings 6 and 7 of the Northport VA Medical Center. The contractor will perform complete roof replacements, including flashing, fascia, trim, soffits, drip edges, underlayment, shingles, and replacement of deteriorated roof sheathing as required. Facade work includes repair of distressed historical brick masonry, mortar repointing, replacement of damaged cast-stone water-table sections and windowsills, and cleaning, refinishing, or replacement of window lintel support angles. Additional work includes reconstruction of Building 7's main entrance stair and support walls; replacement of storm- and site-drainage systems, including yard drains, catch basins, underground piping, regrading, and landscape restoration; and asbestos-containing-material abatement as indicated on the drawings. Building 6 work will be phased in four stages because the building is occupied, while Building 7 work may be completed in one phase while maintaining protected basement exit access. The construction magnitude is stated as $5,000,000 to $10,000,000, and required work must be completed within 400 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed.
