Description
Tuolumne County is seeking contractors to perform chemical herbicide release work on approximately 973 acres of planted reforestation units within the Rim Fire burn scar. The work involves broadcast and directed spraying of woody shrubs around planted conifers to reduce competing vegetation and support seedling establishment. Contractors must provide herbicides, adjuvants, blue dye, clean wash water, labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, and related supplies. Application rates must be between 30 and 60 gallons per acre, with crop seedlings protected from spray and all exclusion zones, riparian buffers, weather restrictions, and Forest Service resource-protection requirements observed. The contractor must hold the required California pest-control licenses, including Category E (Forest), provide a current Farm Labor Contractor Form WH-510, use appropriately qualified applicators, and comply with fire-prevention, spill-response, equipment-cleaning, reporting, and safety requirements. Work must begin no later than contract execution and be completed by October 31, 2026, subject to earlier cessation caused by significant rain or vegetation senescence. Proposals are evaluated on qualifications and experience, service-delivery methodology, and cost; the initial contract runs through December 31, 2026, with up to six one-month extensions by mutual agreement.
