Description
The National Park Service requires commercial construction services to remove approximately 185 linear feet of existing black iron fire suppression piping and replace it with a new CPVC fire sprinkler system at the Research Center Building. The work includes a new 1-inch riser, 13 sprinkler heads, antifreeze for freeze protection, a 1-gallon expansion tank, and a 1-inch double-check backflow preventer. The contractor must provide all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, testing, flushing, certification, coordination, and cleanup, while complying with applicable NFPA, OSHA, federal, state, and local requirements. The resulting contract is expected to be a firm-fixed-price commercial construction purchase order with a 30-calendar-day performance period, anticipated from November 9 through December 11, 2026. Quotations will be evaluated on price, relevant experience, schedule, contractor state licensing, and past performance. The government seeks pricing below $25,000 but may award above that amount if the quotation represents the best value and funds are available. This is a 100% total small-business set-aside. Amendment 1 replaces the California-specific license evaluation language with a requirement that the prime contractor and proposed executing fire-sprinkler subcontractor hold valid, active state contractor licenses specializing in fire protection systems.
