Description
The City of Calabasas is seeking qualified contractors to inspect, clean, and document 573 retrofitted catch basins annually, with additional as-needed and emergency call-out services. Work includes removing debris, dirt, sediment, vegetation, waste, and other blockages; thoroughly cleaning grates; disposing of removed materials in compliance with applicable laws; taking before-and-after photographs; electronically submitting documentation; and stenciling each basin with the cleaning month and year. The City may also request up to 286 additional catch basin cleanings per year and cleaning of city-owned biofiltration medians and permeable pavers. The contractor must provide references for similar debris-removal and disposal work performed within the past three years in Southern California, prepare traffic-control plans and obtain required permits for work in the public right-of-way, provide haul-route and disposal information, and submit a project schedule before work begins. Proposals are evaluated on qualifications, similar experience, references, understanding of the work, approach and timeline, and cost. The resulting agreement has a five-year term with up to two optional one-year extensions and is subject to California prevailing-wage and Department of Industrial Relations requirements.
