Description
This Sources Sought notice seeks information from businesses capable of providing a brand-new horizontal front-loading, internal gas-quench vacuum furnace. The furnace must have a double-walled, water-cooled stainless-steel chamber; an all-metal insulated hot zone; a minimum usable work zone of 12 by 12 by 18 inches; a 250-pound hearth capacity; operating temperatures up to 2,400°F and cleanup temperatures up to 2,500°F; specified temperature uniformity; and vacuum performance in the 10^-6 Torr ultimate and 10^-5 Torr operating ranges. The system must include mechanical roughing, high-vacuum diffusion, and holding pumps; automatic fail-safe interlocks; internal nitrogen or argon gas cooling; partial-pressure capability; a closed-loop water-cooling system; PLC and touchscreen controls; temperature-uniformity data logging; a minimum 65 kVA SCR-controlled power supply; and a manual load truck. The contractor must provide operator and maintenance training before final commissioning, plus digital operation and maintenance manuals, manufacturer manuals, mechanical and electrical drawings, and a recommended spare-parts list. Responses must include company information, a SAM UEI, a technical solution, a budgetary estimate including delivery, and projected delivery time.
