Description
The City of Murfreesboro is soliciting a lump-sum bid to rehabilitate a one-story brick home. The work includes demolition and replacement of damaged floor joists, mud sill, band joists, ledger support, subfloor, insulation, and joist hangers; temporary shoring and bracing; crawl-space cleanup; and replacement of ductwork. The contractor must provide required demolition, debris disposal, an on-site dumpster, restroom facilities, furniture and appliance relocation, and protection of retained finishes and contents. Additional work includes removal and replacement of a hallway bathroom floor system; installation of a low-step fiberglass or acrylic shower, shower valve, handheld shower, grab-bar blocking, and related plumbing; installation of laminate flooring and trim; interior wall and trim painting; and reconstruction of the front porch using concrete block, brick, concrete, and rails. The project uses Community Development Block Grant funds and includes applicable federal clauses, including Davis-Bacon requirements for covered construction work. A Tennessee contractor’s license is required for bids of $25,000 or more.
