Description
The City of Redding, through Redding Electric Utility, is soliciting bids for treated wood poles used on its 12 kV distribution and 115 kV transmission systems. Bid Group 1 covers 35- to 55-foot poles and permits Douglas fir or Western red cedar as an alternate; Bid Group 2 covers 60- to 100-foot poles and requires Douglas fir. All poles must meet the stated ANSI, AWPA, ASTM, IEEE, UL, CPUC, and NESC requirements and must use DCOI preservative treatment. The awarded supplier must provide firm unit pricing, delivery within 60 calendar days of each purchase order, shipping on self-unloading trucks, pole inspection coordination, applicable product and treatment documentation, and a 12-month-from-installation or 18-month-from-acceptance warranty. The bid package requires a signed Bid Proposal Form, completed Pole Information Statement, completed Excel bid spreadsheet, product cut sheets or data sheets, and a completed IRS Form W-9, along with specified bidder, manufacturer, delivery, inspection, and reference information. The contract period runs from award through October 31, 2027, with three possible one-year extensions.
