Description
The California High-Speed Rail Authority is procuring aluminum conductors for its overhead contact system and high-speed rail construction. The scope includes manufacturing static wire and feeder wire compliant with the technical specifications, applicable European standards, and Buy America requirements. Materials must be newly manufactured, free of splices and defects, and supplied with qualification testing, acceptance testing, quality-control documentation, certificates of compliance, and required traceability records. The contract covers estimated quantities of 217,754 meters of static wire and 214,334 meters of feeder wire, with delivery to railheads in Kern County near Wasco and Fresno County. The initial contract term is expected to be two to four years, with deliveries scheduled from the first quarter of 2027 through the fourth quarter of 2029 and optional extensions for additional construction segments. Bidders must submit technical capability information, relevant past performance, Buy America certification, a 10% bid bond, and numerous required forms and certifications. The lowest responsive and responsible bidder will be selected.
