Description
Nassau BOCES is soliciting bids for a broad range of fire protection products and services. The 161 bid items include portable fire extinguishers and fire suppression cylinders from specified manufacturers, suppression-system inspections at numerous school and facility locations, fusible-link replacement, hourly repair labor, extinguisher recharging, hydrostatic testing, hydro testing and refilling of suppression-system cylinders, and replacement parts such as gauges, hoses, horns, valve components, cartridges, hooks, and cylinders. The solicitation also includes yearly maintenance for all fire extinguishers, including disassembly, inspection, updating, replacement of parts, and recertification in accordance with the referenced NFPA 10 provisions. Bidders must bid on all items to submit a valid bid, and subcontractors are not allowed. The bid requires electronic completion of the portal attributes and pricing for all items; a paper-bid alternative is mentioned for the Iran Divestment Act certification. Insurance documentation is required before award and before work, while New York State Department of Labor registration and prevailing-wage requirements apply to covered Article 8 services.
