Description
Sierra County is soliciting proposals for snow removal and, when necessary, de-icing and sanding services on specified County roads in and around Verdi, California. The contractor must provide all required labor, vehicles, trucks, tractors, plows, equipment, materials, fuel, transportation, operators, supervision, and maintenance. Contractors must respond within three hours of notification and plow or sand continuously until released by the County, generally when snow accumulation reaches four inches or more. Subcontracting is not allowed. The snow-plowing season is December 1, 2026, through April 15, 2027. Proposals are evaluated on cost, management capabilities, past experience and performance, and technical criteria. The proposal must include an introductory letter, equipment-yard location, qualifications and experience, similar-project information, and at least three references with contact information. Proposals are limited to 40 single-sided or 20 double-sided pages, including the introductory letter and resumes. The County does not require a bid bond or performance guarantee for this solicitation.
