Description
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Teneo Linguistics Company, LLC for language-related translation services. These services are required for legal documents such as Provisional Arrest Warrants (PAW), Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties (MLAT), and other necessary extradition documents that need translation into Spanish or other European languages. The services will be rendered outside of court proceedings. The DEA has worked with Teneo Linguistics Company, LLC (TLC) for the past six years, processing approximately 250 orders across at least a dozen languages. TLC has demonstrated an ability to use precise legal terminology, maintain country-specific term bases, and utilize extensive translation memories and databases to ensure consistency and accuracy. Their services are critical for federal prosecutions, as errors in translation can lead to rejection of extradition requests, delays, or failure of prosecution. TLC also provides subject matter experts for testimony and language interpretation.
