The National Park Service requires fabrication and installation of welded 2-inch outside-diameter steel handrail systems at multiple stairways, rear doors, and a parking-lot walkway near the Visitor Center and Headquarters buildings. The work includes field measurement and layout, steel fabrication and welding, anchoring to concrete or paved surfaces, surface preparation, application of rust-inhibitive primer and two coats of exterior metal enamel, visitor and property protection, and site cleanup. Handrails must comply with applicable IBC, ADA/ABA, OSHA, ASTM, and AWS requirements, including specified dimensions, loading, post spacing, anchoring, and welding standards. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, tools, transportation, and incidentals; work is to be completed within 60 calendar days after notice to proceed. Pre-fabrication submittals include shop drawings, product data, safety documentation, and a work schedule, with closeout deliverables including warranty, as-built drawings, and final photographs.
