Description
The City of Northfield is soliciting proposals from qualified engineering and consulting firms to evaluate the existing heating, cooling, mechanical, electrical, controls, and related systems at the approximately 58,000-square-foot Northfield Community Resource Center. The selected provider must establish a baseline for continued operation, compare continued operation, conventional replacement or upgrade, and geothermal heating and cooling alternatives, and assess capital, operating, lifecycle, energy, emissions, performance, maintenance, site, permitting, funding, and implementation considerations. If geothermal is determined to be the preferred alternative, the provider must advance it toward design development and construction documentation to the greatest extent practicable within the total $70,000 project budget. Potential deliverables include system layouts, mechanical plans, equipment schedules and specifications, calculations, electrical and controls requirements, cost estimates, permitting information, and a final feasibility and design report. Proposals must address the technical approach, qualifications and relevant project experience, project team and subcontractors, schedule, detailed fee, assumptions, and proposed level of design documentation. The RFP requests at least one similar project completed within the past year and three within the past five years, with references.
