Description
The City of Rock Island is soliciting sealed bids for rehabilitation of an owner-occupied home at 1138 39th Street. The work includes repairing and reconfiguring ductwork; installing a condensation pump; correcting furnace wiring; replacing hardwired smoke/CO units; replacing basement gas piping with supported black iron, appliance shutoffs, and drip legs; and replacing galvanized water lines with copper, fixture shutoffs, a laundry hookup, an exterior antifreeze sillcock, and basement insulation. The project also includes front porch reconstruction: temporary roof bracing; removal of existing deck framing, flooring, and concrete steps; installation of four 16-inch-by-42-inch footings; construction of a treated deck and roof-support structure; treated handrails, approved fasteners and hold-downs; and code-compliant steps. Required permits, footing and framing inspections, and applicable HUD, EPA, OSHA, Illinois, and local code compliance apply. The contractor must provide a project plan with a timeline and line-item labor and material costs, identify subcontractors, and complete the work within 30 days after contract signing.
