Description
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is soliciting applications for technical assistance and training to support rural, small, and Tribal municipalities and wastewater treatment systems. The program aims to help these communities identify water challenges, develop plans, build technical, financial, and managerial capacity, comply with Clean Water Act requirements, and access funding for wastewater infrastructure. Priority areas include technical assistance for planning and financing, improving water quality and compliance, specific support for Tribal communities, and information dissemination for decentralized wastewater treatment systems. Eligible entities for this grant program include nonprofit organizations and institutions of higher education. The EPA anticipates making up to 12 awards, with estimated funding between $1,000,000 and $3,000,000 per award, for projects with a one-to-three-year period. Infrastructure construction projects are not eligible for funding under this announcement.
