Description
The Federal Aviation Administration is soliciting a contractor to remove and replace the existing roof waterproofing systems at the cab roof and catwalk roof of the Hilo Air Traffic Control Tower. The work includes removal and disposal of existing roofing, installation of a new 60-mil reinforced PVC membrane system with insulation and cover board, correction of drainage and ponding conditions, flashing and waterproofing at roof interfaces and penetrations, and a minimum 20-year manufacturer roofing warranty. The contractor must also remove and replace two roof access hatch systems, including a reconfigured catwalk hatch and ladder rotated 90 degrees. The scope includes stainless-steel hatch assemblies, curbs, flashing, waterproofing, structural supports, anchorage, shop drawings, field verification, safety planning, cleanup, and protection of operational FAA equipment. Work will be performed in two phases under separate Notices to Proceed, with each phase requiring completion within 30 calendar days. The solicitation has an estimated construction magnitude between $100,000 and $250,000 and requires submission of business proposal documents, representations and certifications, and past-performance information.
