Description
This firm-fixed-price construction project will rehabilitate the park’s rainwater catchment and water treatment system, including replacing the Ground Catchment 1 liner, improving collection piping and splitter boxes, replacing slow-sand filter media, painting Tanks 1–4, improving drainage and pavement, and installing a fire hydrant. Optional work includes additional catchment excavation, pump and filtration improvements, perimeter-fence replacement, and additional pavement replacement. The base work also demolishes and replaces Building 43 with a pre-engineered metal building and demolishes and replaces Building 241 with a steel-column open-air structure, including removal of accessory buildings and construction of related site, electrical, plumbing, fire-protection, security, and paving improvements. Section 106 mitigation includes assessment and minor repairs to five historic redwood tanks. The contractor must maintain at least 22,000 gallons per day of water production, protect active park operations and historic, archaeological, environmental, and hazardous-material resources, and perform the work within 610 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed. Bid, performance, and payment bonds are required; the bid guarantee is 20% of the bid price or $3,000,000, whichever is less.
