Description
St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners is soliciting bids for maintenance dredging and beach placement services at the Fort Pierce Inlet. The project involves excavating approximately 69,500 cubic yards of screened dredged material from the sediment impoundment basin and placing it along 2,000 feet of beach south of the Fort Pierce Inlet South Jetty. All dredging and beach fill work must be completed by January 31, 2027, with equipment removed by the same date. Sand placement activities are restricted to outside the marine turtle nesting season (March 1 - November 30), with specific allowances during March 1 - April 30 and November 1 - November 30, as detailed in the FDEP Permit. The contractor will be responsible for screening the material, transporting it to the beach, and disposing of any oversized material at the designated upland disposal site. Payment is based on verified volumes placed on the beach and oversized material transported to the disposal site, with a potential contract variance of +/-25% from the estimated volume. Additional contract items include mobilization, environmental protection, monitoring, surveys, and beach tilling.
